Whenever there is a flood in Pakistan, most of the people in hushed words attribute it to the release of water by India.
This has proved to be true to some extent and in the past these floods have also affected central Punjab, where three rivers of Pakistan, namely Jhelum, Chenab and Ravi, pass through.
However, the areas affected by the recent floods are quite different. The flood ravages started from Balochistan, Sindh and South Punjab and now some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are affected.
Experts say that this year's floods were caused by unusual rains and due to this, flash flooding and urban flooding occurred in some parts of southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.
However, the current flood situation in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is actually due to the floods in the Kabul River, Swat and now the Indus River.

A few days ago, Pakistan's Federal Minister of Climate Change said in a press conference that if we had analyzed and tried to cover one place, it would have been known that another place has been affected by rain or flood. This is a very unusual situation that has no precedent.'
